The Company |
The genesis of GeneOb is rooted in years of research by a team from Laval University, in
Québec city, Québec, Canada. The founders of the company pooled together decades of work from
research studies funded both publically and privately in order to generate gene targets for
the development of interventions (pharmaceutical and behavioral) to fight obesity. GeneOb's
team of researchers and assistants has been fully functionnal for over 10 years and has
published numerous scientific papers explaining the relationship between genetic
predisposition and chronic disease.
Dr. Pérusse, GeneOb's CSO, has been involved in the writing of the Human Obesity Gene Map, a yearly publication which started over ten years ago. He was the lead writer for the 2004 update (The human obesity gene map: the 2004 update. Obes Res. 2005 Mar;13(3):381-490). He is also professor at Laval University and part of a world leading group in obesity research which has published to date thousands of scientific publications peer reviewed. |
